O kurzech

VVV – International music master classes in Slavonice are intended for young artists at the start of their performing careers in violin, viola and violoncello. The goal of the master classes is to discover promising talents and help them successfully prepare for the professional career.

Master classes will take place over the course of a week in the picturesque Renaissance town of Slavonice, in the south of the Czech Republic near the border with Austria. Unlike many master classes, VVV will be free of charge for both classes and housing and meals for the candidates selected to participate. Selected participants only pay a registration fee of CZK 1500.

The application process will be based on audio and video recordings, from which the committee will select the 20 top applicants: 10 violinists, 5 violists and 5 cellists aged 17 to 30 years.

During the master classes, the participants will have the opportunity to focus on solo concertos, orchestral repertoire (including excerpts commonly required for auditions), and chamber music.

The daily schedule will include an hour of individual instruction for each participant and two hours of chamber music instruction. Prior to the beginning of the master classes, the team of instructors will group participants into five chamber ensembles: four string quartets and one piano quintet.

Teachers from local music schools on both sides of the Czech-Austrian border will be welcome to visit the master classes.
